Support
One person builds the app. The same person answers.
An email is enough, with no ticket system and no queue. A reply usually takes one or two working days.
What belongs in a support email
Four things help most: which bank, which file format, what you expected and what happened instead. Screenshots almost always help.
An import didn't work
When Parendi can't read a file, the message says why: unknown format, an incomplete download, a camt.052 or camt.054 file instead of the statement, several accounts in one file. That same message offers to send the file to the developer.
- Send a redacted copy is the normal case. Account and card numbers become X, amounts are altered, free text is cut to three characters, at most 20 rows. The header and structure stay, because that is nearly always where the fault sits.
- Send the original only when the copy no longer shows the problem. Then the statement goes as it is, with names, IBANs and balances. You see the message before it's sent.
Every file sent in makes the import better for that format, usually with the next update.
Supported formats
- camt.053 (XML)
- The ISO 20022 account statement Swiss banks export. No column mapping needed, the account is in the file.
- CSV
- Bank and credit card exports. The app works out the columns itself; if the header is unusual it asks once and remembers the answer for that format.
- XLSX
- Excel exports, same procedure as CSV. The old
.xlsformat is not read; most banks offer CSV alongside.
camt.052 (interim report) and camt.054 (debit/credit notification) are rejected on purpose. Both describe the same payments as the statement, and importing them would count everything twice.
Backing up and moving
Under Settings › Backup you choose the folder for the daily backup and restore a backup, for instance on a new Mac. Before restoring, the app saves the current state alongside. A manual backup is always a ⌘B away.
Trial
30 days from your first successful import. You can extend it once by 30 days in settings under “Licence”. After that the app becomes read-only: reports, search, copying and backups stay open until you buy. The pricing page spells out what that means.
Common questions
Which countries is Parendi made for?
Switzerland and Liechtenstein first, then Germany and Austria. Each gets starter categories, keywords and pension positions that fit. The currency follows the country: CHF or EUR.
Do I need Apple Intelligence?
No, you don't. Importing always works, and your memory and keywords are independent of it. Apple Intelligence only sorts what nothing else catches; without it those transactions land in the catch-all category and wait for you.
Can the app connect to my bank directly?
No, and it is meant to stay that way. A bank connection costs money per user every month, it wants to see someone else's credentials, and it turns an offline app into a cloud app. Exporting from your online banking takes a minute a month.
Can I import the same month twice?
Yes. Anything already in the database is skipped and reported. Matching runs per account, so switching banks doesn't swallow transactions.
Where is my data?
In a SQLite file in the app's folder on your Mac. The daily backup goes to the folder you choose. Backups from the last 30 days are kept in full, older ones one per month.
Which languages does the app speak?
German and English, switchable in settings.
What do I need?
A Mac running macOS 26 or later. For automatic categorisation of new transactions, an Apple silicon Mac with Apple Intelligence turned on.
